Alpine FRCS Course 2012

FRCS part III alpine course  *** Registration Closed*** Saturday the 7th January to  Saturday 14th January 2012 Venue: Hotel Aguille Rouge, Les Arcs, France The FRCS part III Alpine course is an intensive 6 day course with a proven track record.  It is now in its 8th year and continues to attract a high quality and seasoned faculty with huge experience in examination courses.  Feedback from previous course delegates has been excellent with only minor changes being necessary to keep the course material up to date and incorporating relevant changes in the exam structure. Course structure We hope you will find the right balance between intensive revision, plentiful viva practice and the joys of fresh mountain air. Each day of the Alpine course commences with a buffet breakfast, followed by a four hour subspecialty seminar. This is followed by a three/four hour break (will vary), and is the only spare time before around 11pm. Previous delegates have placed a high value on the opportunities for distraction-free private study during the afternoon break, and others have decided to “clear the head” with a few hours outdoors. Thereafter follows a  daily viva practice session through till dinner, and after dinner there are subspecialty evening tutorials. Over the six days the group will face over 170 vivas, and receive around 36 hours of intensive exam-specific tuition. The clinical exams are simulated with clinical photographs and a wide span of radiological images. There is also the unquestionable and unique benefit of a ‘captive faculty’, providing opportunity for individual informal consultation. Each and every viva is conducted and marked exactly as it would be in the examination, and there is provision of  individually tailored  feedback and a ‘viva surgery’ to help you ascertain areas of weakness and improve. On the last day there is a multispecialty scenario-based emergency surgery seminar, to round off the exam preparation. As you can see, you will benefit most from this course if you have already done some preparation! Registration Fee:  £599 before 16.09.2011£625 after 16.09.2011 Registration Fee payment method: A cheque made payable to “Surgical Education Ltd” and to the PO Box address: PO Box 129, Lymm, Cheshire, WA13 9XH.
